Switzerland with Geoff and Shaun and also Thomas for some of the holiday.

Saturday 24th June 2006: My alarm clock failed to go off at 1.50am but apart from that an uneventful journey.  Arrived in Interlaken at 1.30pm, then a lift with my father up to Habkern.  Had a refreshing swim in the pool in the village.


Saturday 25th June 2006: We took advantage of Dad's hire car and drove to Stockhorn for a walk

Monday 26th June 2006: Walk up from Habkern to Hohgant.  Departed at 9.15am, Hohgant at 2pm in the cloud and then met Mum & Dad in the car near Moser at 4pm.  Finished with an evening meal outside at the Sport.

Tuesday 27th June 2006: Caught the 8.30am post-coach and then to Grindelwald.  Found out that the Schwarzhorn was still closed because of snow so headed towards Axalp and then back to Bort to ride down on the scooters.  This is when we bumped into Thomas and his group walking down to Grindelwald

Wednesday 28th June 2006:  Walked up the Niesen starting from Mulenen, just over 4 hours.

Thursday 29th June 2006:  Met Thomas and his group in Lauterbrunnen and walked part of the way to Murren together.  We planned to walk up to the Schilthorn but the signs indicated that we would miss the last cable car down (we would have had time in fact).  So we stopped at the Rotstock hut for the night instead.  Another first for us and a pleasant stay.
 

Friday 30th June 2006:  Left the hut at 8.30am and reached the Schilthorn at 11.20am.  We could still see Thomas heading for the Sefinnenfurke.  Then we carried on down to Murren.  An excellent days walking with super weather.

Saturday 1st July 2006:  Packed the cases and then a gentle walk around Habkern.
