On the Sunday 14th June 2009 we left the Petwood Hotel at Woodhall Spa and headed North.  Our first overnight stop in Scotland was at Jedburgh

 

On Monday we continued North, in the rain, to Pitlochry.


Tuesday we reached Aviemore and visited the Cairngorms


Then on Wednesday we visited Loch Ness


Thursday was when we arrived in Wick


On Friday we went to John O'Groats, Dunnet Head and Thurso
 


Saturday was a delightful drive along the North coast, with fine weather, and then South to Ullapool.


On Sunday we drove the interesting Applecross Road, ending up on the Isle of Skye


We caught the ferry on Monday morning, visited the locks at Fort Augustus, Ben Nevis and then stayed about 10 miles North East of Fort William.



On Tuesday we drove South to Oban and had a High Tea cruise to the Isle of Mull in glorious weather



We eventually found somewhere to stay on the shore of Loch Lomond on Wednesday and had a flight in a seaplane.




Thursday was a drive to Kirkcudbright via Ayr



On Friday we visited the David Coulthard museum before heading to Grosmont and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway



Then all too soon it was Saturday and time to head home.
