Our first Poppy Run
was held in 2003 and has been held annually on a date close to Remembrance
Sunday in November each year.
Below is a selection of photos of both races. Scroll down for many more
photos
Thank-you to Richard & Margaret Thompson for all of the
following photographs
The first Poppy Run
had Tanni Grey-Thompson along with husband Ian and their daughter Carys all
taking part. It was the first race for Carys then eighteen months old and
her race was sixty metres. Tanni and Ian competed in the five mile event.
On that occasion Mick Hill, the great javelin thrower, and his son Max also took
part.
This
our 11th anniversary and we wish to encourage as many participants as possible
to run and raise funds for The Poppy Appeal
All profits are in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Why not come along and have a go in the Fun Run which is open to all ages and is over a distance of 3 miles.
For the more competitive there is a 5 mile race with a minimum age of 15
years.
